Dogs can be such a joy when they understand that boundaries equal freedom for them. A well behaved dog starts with an educated owner and that is our mission. We focus on 3 foundational pieces that establish a life-long relationship between owners and their dogs filled with boundaries, freedom and love.
Owning a dog is a serious responsibility that when taken for granted often results in serious consequences. Far too many dogs are euthanized or left in shelters because their former owners were not willing to put in the effort required to build the boundaries needed for dogs to have the freedom owners want.
At FTD, we have a vision to help as many dogs and owners surrounding the San Diego area as we can by focusing on 2 foundational goals.
Dog Training Expertise
Ever since Fabiola was a young girl she has always had a passion for animals, in particular dogs. And even after being attacked by a stray dog as a young girl she never lost her love and passion for dogs. She grew up rescuing animals from the streets and providing them with a loving home, and or nurturing them back to health. In fact, all of her personal animals (Alvin, Winky, Ganon, Capone) were rescues of some sort.
Once she graduated from Eastlake high school, Fabiola pursued and successfully completed her Veterinary Assistant certification from PIMA Medical Institute. During this time she was able to deepen her knowledge on the history and psychology of dogs. While working as a Veterinary Assistant, Fabiola once again experienced a severe bite from a large aggressive dog. However, this only motivated and encouraged her to find a way to follow her heart and pursue a career in professional dog training. She realized that by training dogs and coaching owners she could prevent future unfortunate incidents similar to those she had experienced at the pet hospital so regularly.
After working five years in the Veterinary Medicine field, Fabiola rescued a Belgian Milionis puppy which sparked a unique and special relationship that would change her life. Early on, the puppy, named Ganon, displayed many behaviors and a definite need for obedience training and behavior modification. It was at this time that Fabiola was introduced to Lorenzo’s Dog Training Team. While going through the training process with Ganon, Fabiola realized that she had a passion for training dogs and teaching people about their dogs' behaviors. She quickly went through the certifying process and has now successfully trained over hundreds of dogs with the full range of behavioral issues. While at LDTT she earned personally, as well as led her team to, top producer awards on multiple occasions throughout the years.
After spending six years with a group of dog training professionals, she knew it was time to once again take the next step forward in her career by launching her own dog training company, Fabi’s Top Dogs. Now with a larger facility she is able to help more rescues, take on more clients, and keep living her dream as a professional dog trainer.
When she is not cuddling with her pack Fabiola enjoys working out, playing soccer, swimming, biking, or hiking. And does not mind a good nap, if possible.
"Taking lead in your pack by establishing healthy boundaries reduces your dog's stress, anxiety and fear which results in them trusting you and not having the burden of worrying about figuring things out for themselves. This is what truly creates freedom for both you and your dog."
